Lindsay Kitchens
Event Coordinator

Our newest member, Lindsay Kitchens, comes to us with a background in Charleston cuisine and hospitality. Prior to becoming Director of Catering for A Southern Affair, she worked with several caterers as well as restaurants throughout the Lowcountry since her move in 2012 after graduating from Georgia State University. She has over fifteen years experience in the hospitality field and a vast knowledge of marketing, advertising and event coordinating. Her positive attitude, organization, and creative mind have helped her to greatly succeed and ultimately led to her taking on this position. Her extensive knowledge of Charleston and it's history allow her to give an insider's view to many historic venues in the Lowcountry.


Chris Sims
Corporate Chef

A Southern Affair Catering and Events is headed by professional chef Christopher Sims.
At just 12 years old, he landed his very first job at R.B's Seafood Restaurant on Shem Creek,
where he continued to work until the age of 18. For the next 14 years, Chris was head chef
at Gilligan's in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He has since returned to A Southern Affair's
sister restaurant, The Noisy Oyster, with over 20 years of experience. Although he has a passion
for cooking all southern foods, Chris's favorite dish to cook is Shrimp and Okra Gumbo.


Brett Yearout

On any given day, you will find Brett Yearout running three restaurants and a full service
catering company with long time best friend and business partner, Wade Boals. Yearout
realized his passion for serving others at a young age, and landed his first job at RB's Seafood
Restaurant on Shem Creek at just 14 years old. There, he befriended Wade Boals, a fellow
coworker and son of RB's owner, Ronnie Boals. After graduating from college, he returned
to RB's for another 8 years, before purchasing The Noisy Oyster Seafood Restaurant in
North Charleston with Boals. With over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage
industry, Wade and Brett decided to take their talents outside restaurant walls and open
their first full service catering company. On his days off, you can catch him on the
golf course or fishing the salt waters of Charleston.


Wade Boals

As a 4th generation Charleston restaurateur, Wade Boals was destined for greatness
in the Lowcountry's food and beverage industry. At a young age, he started working
at his father's restaurant, RB's Seafood Restaurant. After receiving his business degree
Newberry College, he contributed to the success of a multitude of restaurants and opened
three restaurants with best friend and business partner, Brett Yearout. The two decided
to take their experience and knowledge to the catering industry and thus, A Southern Affair
Catering and Events was born. In addition to A Southern Affair, Wade and Brett own and
operate Big Billy's Burger Joint and The Noisy Oyster Seafood Restaurants in North Charleston
and on Market Street in Downtown Charleston. Wade loves being involved and helping others.
He is an active member of the community and contributor of East Cooper Meals on Wheels,
as well as board member of the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association.
